EDGE GROUP | Unmanned solutions at EDEX 2023

During its participation in EDEX 2023, EDGE Group presented a variety of unmanned systems and kits in addition to its advanced missile solutions. You can read more about these solutions here.

In particular, EDGE GROUP showcased the following:

SHADOW family

The SHADOW 50 – P unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) system provides users with a long-endurance, loitering munition that delivers precision strike capabilities against fixed targets.

Featuring advanced guidance capabilities and onboard video navigation, the SHADOW 50 – P system enables the rapid delivery of large payloads up to 50 kg, while offering mission flexibility with up to a 295 km range and 9-hour endurance.

SHADOW 50 – P technical characteristics:

  • Cruise speed: 167 km/h
  • Ceiling altitude: 12,500 ft
  • Data Link range: 100 km
  • Guidance: GNSS along with electro-optical navigation
  • Wingspan: 3.47 m

The SHADOW 25 system provides users with a jet-powered, rapid-strike kamikaze munition capable of delivering a precision strike against fixed targets.

Featuring advanced guidance capabilities and onboard video navigation, the SHADOW 25 system has a cruising speed of 400 km/h, creating new opportunities to swiftly neutralize stationary enemy targets with a 25 kg payload, even those located up to 295 km away.

GARMOOSHA

A light-weight unmanned rotary-wing aircraft designed to carry payloads of approximately 120 kg with an 8-hour endurance and a range of 150 km.

The rotary UAV is designed for surveillance capabilities with a low-consumption fuel engine and big payload capacity.

GARMOOSHA technical characteristics: 

  • Maximum speed: 150 km/h 
  • Maximum take-off weight: 550 kg
  • Ceiling altitude: 10,000 ft

QX family

The QX-1 loitering munition system provides military forces with an effective small footprint tool to make discreet, targeted attacks with accuracy and effectiveness. 

Easy to carry, this kamikaze system features multiple fuse options (impact, proximity, operator command) to meet any mission requirement. This multi-rotor vertical take-off drone provides operators with an onboard video feed, fast-flight attack speed, a range of 10 km and a 500-gram payload.

QX-1 technical characteristics:

  • Ceiling altitude: 4,000 ft
  • Endurance: 20 min
  • Maximum take-off weight: 3 kg
  • Engine type: Electric
  • Guidance: GNSS, with an option for TV/Thermal Camera seeker
  • Communication link: Video and control data capability

The QX-4 VTOL unmanned aerial vehicle is a modern tool for advanced intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions, featuring an extended endurance of up to 13 hours. With advanced autopilot and communication systems, the QX-4 can carry payloads of up to 7 kg, offering multiple mission scenarios to border control

and military forces. This system is easily transportable by light vehicles and delivers a stand-off range of 150 km.

RASH family

The RASH – 1M precision-guided munition is a modern glider system featuring advanced automation and communication technologies. This system is modular, low-cost, and highly configurable to fit onto most aircraft systems. 

The RASH system is ideal for swiftly engaging unexpected small- to medium-sized threats during patrol missions.

Its operation involves a ground control station, which provides UAS-related Targeting, Launching, Monitoring, and Health data. The station is linked to the User System (fixed-wing/rotary-wing), which is connected to the RASH System Control Hub for managing up to 24 units of the Smart Release Mounts of Guided Munitions (applicable to all variants).

The RASH – 2M converts a standard mortar into a low-cost, high-precision guided munition system capable of swiftly engaging small- to medium-sized threats. 

Compact enough for integration into most tactical unmanned and manned aerial platforms (rotary- and fixed-wing), this modern glider system features advanced automation and communication technologies. TRASH – 2M can support up to 24 precision-guided munitions, giving users maximum flexibility during the retrofit process.
