Cyprus | Agreement signed with the USA for the provision of logistics services on ships – VIDEO and Photos

On Monday, the Republic of Cyprus and the USA signed the Bilateral Agreement “Acquisition and Cross – Servicing Agreement – ACSA” on the exchange of logistics services between the two countries.

The signing ceremony of the agreement took place in the presence of the Minister of Defence, Charalambos Petridis, and the US Ambassador, Judith Garber. The ceremony was held on the US Navy vessel USNS YUMA (expeditionary fast transport T – EPF 8), which is docked in the port of Limassol.

The ceremony was attended by, among others, the Chief of the National Guard, Lt. Gen. Dimokritos Zervakis, and the Officers who participated in training programs held in the USA as part of the IMET program.

In his speech, Defence Minister, Mr. Charalambos Petridis, welcomed the decision to lift the arms embargo to the Republic of Cyprus, thanked the USA and said that this decision will contribute to the promotion of peace, stability and security in the Eastern Mediterranean. He also referred to further deepening the defence cooperation between the two sides.
