The Conference of the Hellenic Manufacturers of Defence Material Association (SEKPY) on “Contracts in the Defence Sector and European Developments” has completed with great success at the Armed Forces Officers’ Club.
The Conference kicked off with a short greeting from the President of SEKPY, Mr. Anastasios Rozolis.
Then, Professor of Administrative Law and Environmental Law of the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Mrs. Siouti, together with Mrs. Maria-Ioanna Petropoulou, Lawyer and Doctor of the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, analyzed aspects of the topic “Contracts in the Defence Sector”.
Following this, Mr. Georgopoulos Aris, Assistant Professor in European and Public Law, spoke about the European dimension of the legal framework for the procurement of defence material.
A Round Table of the three Academics was held on “The need for a new Greek legal framework for the Procurement of Defence Material”. The coordinator was Mrs. Ino Afentaki, Executive Director of IDIS.
Further, the executives of Ernst & Young, Mr. Vasilios Tsiamis and Mr. Georgios Tzamtzis, spoke about the developments in the Defence sector at the European level.
At this point, it is worth mentioning the creation of a Helpdesk for the Members of SEKPY jointly with Ernst & Young regarding EDF programs, which is expected to be ready at the end of May.
Finally, DEFEA – Defence Exhibition Athens’ contribution must be highlighted in the organization of the Conference.
