On Tuesday, June 27, 2023, the naval cooperation exercise “HN/NC – 02/2023” took place in the sea area south of Limassol in the framework of the presence of the Hellenic Navy’s Frigate THEMISTOKLIS in the area.
The exercise was planned by the Naval Command of the National Guard in collaboration with the Hellenic Navy and was attended by the Naval Command’s OPV IOANNIDIS and the Greek frigate.
The exercise scenario included tactical movements and advanced maneuvers, technical drills as well as communications exercises. The joint training was completed with a salute exchanged between the vessels.
The National Guard General Staff (GEEF) reports that the exercise is considered particularly beneficial as it provides the opportunity for the personnel of the naval units of the National Guard to train together with corresponding units of the Greek Navy, thus promoting the level of training, interoperability and highlighting the excellent relations between the Armed Forces of the two countries.
