According to an announcement by the National Guard General Staff (GEEF), in the framework of the National Joint Tactical Exercise “IRIS 2021”, from October 18-20, 2021, the 7th Mechanized Infantry Brigade planned and conducted a Dual Energy exercise codenamed “IRIS – GRAIGOS” in the wider area of ​​responsibility of the Brigade. 

The exercise scenario included both defensive and offensive operations. In particular, the exercise initially focused on defensive action in order to intercept the Mechanized Infantry Forces, followed by an offensive action aiming to eliminate the said infiltration by the Mechanized Infantry Brigade, which was supported by its organic means, its respective attack helicopters and the corresponding means of the Brigade. 

The final phase of the exercise on October 20, 2021 was attended by the Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Democritus Zervakis, the Deputy Chief, Lieutenant General Costas Chrysiliou and the Hierarchy of the National Guard General Staff, who noted the Brigade’s high level of readiness and military capability.
