Greece – Portugal | Defence Cooperation Agreement Approved

The Defence and Foreign Affairs Committee of Parliament has voted in favor of the Defence Ministry’s bill for the ratification of the Defence Cooperation Agreement between Greece and Portugal.

In addition to enhancing regional security in the Mediterranean, this Agreement advances military and defence diplomacy as well as foreign policy objectives, promoting national interests and further strengthening friendly relations with Portugal within the framework of the EU and NATO.

At the same time, the Agreement facilitates the exchange of expertise and know-how in the defence sector, as highlighted by the Deputy Minister of Defence, Giannis Kefalogiannis.
