The Oath Ceremony of Class 2022 Second Lieutenants was held on Monday, June 27, 2022, in which eleven Cypriots participated. Specifically, the graduation and oath ceremony of the new Second Lieutenants of Class 2022 “Lieutenant General Konstantinos Mazarakis – Ainian” took place at the Hellenic Military Academy in Vari, Attica, in the presence of the Greek President, Mrs. Sakellaropoulou, who awarded the graduates’ swords.
The ceremony was attended by the Vice President of the Hellenic Parliament, Mr. Athanasios Bouras, as a representative of the Speaker of Parliament, the Metropolitan of Glyfada, Elliniko, Voula, Vouliagmeni and Vari, Mr. Antonios – as a representative of the Archbishop of Athens and all of Greece – the Minister of National Defence, Mr. Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos, the Deputy Minister of National Defence, Mr. Nikolaos Hardalias, Members of the Greek Parliament, the Chief of HNDGS, General Constantinos Floros, the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Charalambos Lalousis, the Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff, Vice-Admiral Stylianos Petrakis, the Chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff, Air Marshal Themistoklis Bourolias, the Chief of the Hellenic Police, Lieutenant General Konstantinos Skoumas, the Chief of the Hellenic Coast Guard, Vice-Admiral George Alexandrakis, and the Chief of the Hellenic Fire Service, Lieutenant General Alexios Rapanos. The ceremony was also attended by representatives of the Local Government and the Church, members of the Supreme Military Council, Honorary Chiefs of the Hellenic Army General Staff, descendants of the hero of Class 2022 Lieutenant General Konstantinos Mazarakis – Ainian as well as relatives of the new Second Lieutenants.
A total of 180 Second Lieutenants participated in the oath ceremony, of whom 166 are from Greece, 11 from Cyprus, 1 from Albania, 1 from Bosnia and Herzegovina and 1 from Moldova.
