A four-year framework agreement for the supply of THEON SENSORS’ ARGUS and ARGUS PANOPTES was signed by the French Ministry of Interior and SUNROCK, THEON’s partner company in France.
Through this recently-signed agreement, the French Police, the French Gendarmerie, the French Customs and the Directorate for Security and Defence Cooperation can procure up to 8,500 night vision systems.
According to the announcement, this agreement will equip the French Police units with modern night vision capabilities a few months before the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
THEON can supply systems with extremely short lead times, having the right manufacturing capacity and supply chain that allow it to provide customized solutions, while achieving economies of scale, but also the fastest reaction to market demands than anyone else in the industry.
It is worth noting that prior to this contract, THEON and SUNROCK had already supplied hundreds of ARGUS night vision systems and other night vision equipment to the French Gendarmerie, French Police, Customs Units, including the security unit of the French Presidency.

Philippe Mennicken, THEON’s Business Development Director, commented that after years of extensive testing and evaluation by demanding countries around the world, such as France, Sweden, the United Arab Emirates, Denmark, the Netherlands, Canada, etc., THEON’s ARGUS is one of the best-selling multi-purpose night vision systems in the market.
More than 75,000 ARGUS systems have been delivered to Armed and Security Forces around the world. These global exports, and now the new framework agreement with the French Ministry of Interior, highlight the trust the said system has earned in the world’s most demanding markets.
Damien Druon, CEO of SUNROCK, commented that it is a real source of pride to be able to equip the various units of the National Gendarmerie and the National Police of France, especially regarding the development of security systems for the Olympic Games.
This success symbolizes the successful collaboration between THEON, a recognized international brand in the field of night vision systems and optronics, and SUNROCK, which strengthens its support to the personnel of the French Ministry of Interior and the Armed Forces, he concluded.

The Estonian Center for Defence Investments (ECDI) has delivered the first batch of modern night vision devices to the Estonian Defence Forces, significantly enhancing their capabilities to operate in the dark.
The newly-enhanced features of these devices from Theon Sensors enhance soldiers’ combat effectiveness in three critical areas: they are lighter, more light-sensitive and offer superior resolution compared to previous models, giving users a tactical advantage.
Theon Sensors products were selected from among 16 bidders based on established evaluation criteria. Theon is grateful to ECDI for their trust, giving the company the opportunity to demonstrate its capability and its pride in delivering what it promised within the specified time frame, said Vassilios Savvaidis, CEO of Theon Sensors.
