Second Lieutenants Class 2021 oath ceremony – 35 Cypriots among them – Photos

On Wednesday, June 23, 2021, the oath ceremony of the new Second Lieutenants Class 2021 “Major Konstantinos Tzavelas” took place at the Hellenic Military Academy in Vari, Attica. The ceremony took place in the presence of the Greek President, Mrs. Katerina Sakellaropoulou, who awarded the swords to the graduates.

The ceremony was attended by the Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament, Mr. Konstantinos Tassoulas, the Minister of National Defence, Mr. Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos, the Deputy Minister of National Defence, Mr. Alkiviadis Stefanis, the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Konstantinos Floros, the Chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff, Air Marshal Georgios Mblioumis, the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Charalambos Lalousis, the Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff, Rear Admiral Stylianos Petrakis, the Chief of the Hellenic Police, Lieutenant General Michael Karamalakis, the Chief of the Hellenic Coast Guard, Rear Admiral Theodoros Kliaris and the Chief of the Hellenic Fire Service, Lieutenant General Stefanos Kolokouris. Representatives of parties, the Church and the Local Government as well as relatives of the new Second Lieutenants also attended the ceremony.

A total of 230 Second Lieutenants graduated, of whom 189 are from Greece, 35 from Cyprus, 1 from Armenia, 2 from Bosnia and Herzegovina, 1 from Montenegro and 2 from Moldova.
