Russia, Turkey, Iran call for “calm” in Syria

Russia, Turkey, and Iran agreed to work together to find a way to de-escalate tensions in Syria’s Idlib region, the three countries said in a joint statement after the talks in Kazakhstan.

“They stressed the need to maintain calm with the full implementation of all the Idlib agreements” without specifying what this means for Turkey’s plans to launch a military operation against Kurdish-led YPG forces in the region.
