Navy Command | Maritime activities from Mari to Paphos – Photos

On Saturday, August 8, 2020, the Navy Force consisting of three Coastal Patrol Vessels and the “IOANNIDIS” Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) of the Navy Command of the National Guard General Staff sailed from the Naval Base “Evangelos Florias” to the area of Thalas, Limassol. There, the Navy Force conducted Drills and Tactical Exercises at sea under adverse weather conditions.

In the afternoon of August 8, 2020, OPV “IOANNIDIS” was still at the sea area of Paphos and anchored off the fishing shelter in Latsi. In the morning of August 9, 2020, the vessel sailed to Pachyammos where she participated in the Annual National Memorial of the fallen during the Battles of Tillyria, which was held at the Church of St. Raphael, in the presence of the Minister of Defence, Mr. Charalambos Petridis, and the Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Dimokritos Zervakis.
