National Guard Special Forces participate in Sniper Competition – Photos

A group of snipers of the National Guard Special Forces participated in the Sniper Competition of Special Operations Units, which took place in Greece.

The competition took place between November 9-11, 2021 and was held under the Special Warfare Command of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (GEETHA) at the Kandili and Megaron Shooting Ranges. Personnel of the Hellenic Special Forces, the Hellenic Coast Guard as well as the Special Operations Forces of the Republic of Cyprus participated in it.

The ceremony that took place on November 11, 2021 was attended by the Commander of the Special Warfare Command of GEETHA, Lieutenant General George Tsitsikostas, who awarded the prizes to the winners of the competition.

Through the said competition, the Special Warfare Command aims to attract participants from NATO countries and beyond, thus establishing it as a reference point for the sniper specialty both nationally and regionally. The competition was held for the third consecutive year and its international character contributes to the strengthening of ties between the Special Operations Units – Security Forces as well as to the promotion of joint, inter-service cooperation and the cultivation of fair play.
