The family of the NCO of the Cyprus National Guard appeals for his transfer abroad. The NCO was seriously injured while carrying out maintenance work on a vehicle of his Unit at the “Andreas Papandreou” Air Base on August 17.

The family sent a relevant letter to the Director General of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Christina Giannaki, asking her to contribute to sending the patient to Israel after an accident while on duty. Specifically, the family asks that the NCO be transferred to a specialized hospital where he can potentially undergo medical tests and treatment.

It is noted that the NCO, aged 54, is a father of three children and is hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit of the General Hospital of Nicosia. His condition is critical.

According to his relatives who were contacted by CNA, the transfer of a doctor from Israel has been approved, but he has not yet arrived in Cyprus.

According to Euronews, an investigation was ordered to ascertain the causes of the accident.
