Defence Redefined

The military parade in Athens, as part of the bicentennial celebrations of the Greek Revolution of 1821, was held with absolute magnificence.

The parade was attended by the Russian Prime Minister, Mikhail Mishustin, Prince of Wales, Charles, along with the Duchess of Cornwall Camilla, the Minister of Defence of the French Republic, Florence Parly as well as the President of Cyprus, Nikos Anastasiadis, together with his wife, Andri.

Fighter jets and other aircraft as well as helicopters flew over the parade, with the Evzones of the presidential guard being once more the highlight of the parade.

Feelings of emotion and pride were also evoked when the Greek pilot of the «Zeus» F-16 demo team, squadron leader Dimitris Volakakis conveyed this message: “From the impregnable Greek skies, the Air Force pilots send a message of pride and confidence. In the white clouds and above the blue seas, we spread the blue and white and make it a shield for every corner of our place.”

The Cyprus Air Force honored the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution with helicopter formation flights over the free Cyprus territory.
