Following planning of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS), from Monday 6 to Tuesday 7 December 2021, an anti-mine training was conducted between the “EUROPE” Mine-Hunting vessel and the Standing NATO Mine Countermeasures Group 2 (SNMCMG-2), which consisted of the Spanish Offshore Patrol Vessel ESPS RAYO, the Spanish Mine-Hunting vessel ESPS SEGURA and the Italian Mine-Hunting vessel ITS TERMOLI, in the sea area of the Gulf of Patras.
The joint training focused on anti-mine operations, communication, and advanced maneuver drills.
This joint training helped to promote the level of operational readiness, combat capability, cooperation, and interoperability between the participating units in an allied context.
