HNDGS | The Hellenic Armed Forces participate in exercise “AGILE SPIRIT 23”

From Monday, August 21 to Friday, September 01, 2023, the Hellenic Armed Forces participated in the transnational exercise “AGILE SPIRIT 23”. The exercise took place in Georgia in the context of the wider planning of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS) for the Forces’ international cooperation.

“AGILE SPIRIT 23” is co-organized and conducted by the US Armed Forces and the Armed Forces of Georgia. It is a Brigade Multinational Staff-level Command Post/Computer Assisted Exercise (CPX/CAX) and a Battalion-level Force on Force Live Exercise/Field Training Exercise (LIVEX/FTX) with the use of Live Fire.

According to a relevant announcement of the HNDGS, personnel from 23 countries participated in the exercise. On the Greek side, 7 Staff Officers of the 1st ARMY/EU-OHQ “ACHILLES” participated in the Brigade Multinational Staff, whereas 3 Staff Officers of the Special Warfare Command of the HNDGS participated in the Staff of the Special Operations Component Command (SOCC).

During the exercise, a wide range of ground operations were conducted, including airborne operations, and special objective operations, alongside the implementation of the Military Decision Making Process (MDMP), which contributed to strengthening interoperability and the operational readiness of the participating forces.
