On Thursday 07 and Friday 08 April 2022 the Multinational Exercises “INIOCHOS 22” and “ORION 22” were completed. The exercises kicked off on Monday, March 28, 2022, according to the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS).

The purpose of the Exercises was to create a highly realistic and ever-changing tactical environment, in which participants were asked to respond to highly demanding joint synergies to enhance their combat capability and interoperability.

A special aspect of the Exercises, which were coordinated by HNDGS, was the participation of 20 Countries with 1,900 personnel, 2 Aircraft Carriers, 130 Aircraft, and Helicopters as well as 10 Warships.

The increased complexity and the promoted tactical scenarios of “INIOCHOS 22” and “ORION 22”, along with the wide participation of assets and personnel, rank them among the most important activities of joint tactical training in Europe, contributing to the role of our country as a reliable ally and partner as well as a pillar of security and stability in the Eastern Mediterranean region and beyond.
