The Ministry of Shipping and Insular Policy announced, yesterday, October 9, 2023, in Diavgeia, the official decision to approve the results of a tender, regarding the procurement of 5+5 modern patrol boats for the Hellenic Coast Guard.
In particular, the Hellenic Coast Guard selected the Watercat 2000 Patrol monohulls from the Finnish manufacturer Marine Alutech.
The total award amount is €17,000,000.00 for the first five patrol boats and if the option is exercised for five more boats, the total will rise to €34 million, that is, €3.4 million per patrol boat.
According to the delivery schedule, the Hellenic Coast Guard will receive the five vessels within 9 months as of the day of signing the procurement contract.
If the option to build additional vessels is exercised, then the Finnish company Marine Alutech is required to deliver the sixth vessel within six months and each additional vessel within two months from the exercise of the option or the delivery of the fifth consecutive vessel, whichever occurs last.
