On Friday, May 26, 2023, as part of the cooperation and upgraded relations between the Armed Forces of the Republic of Cyprus and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Acrobatic Swarm of the Royal Saudi Air Force, “SAUDI HAWKS”, was hosted at the “ANDREAS PAPANDREOU” Air Base in Paphos, which acted as an intermediate refueling station giving the crews an opportunity to rest.

According to an announcement by the National Guard General Staff (GEEF), the Acrobatic Squadron, consisting of 8 Hawk-type aircraft and 2 supporting C-130 aircraft, performed, among other things, a demonstration and air salute over the Air Base.

The presence of the Aerobatic Swarm of Saudi Arabia in Cyprus is part of the network of international partnerships developed by the National Guard and is a continuation of the upgraded cooperation and excellent relationship between the Armed Forces of the 2 states.
