“EUNOMIA” | Cyberwarfare in drill scenarios – The aeronautical quadripartite exercise kicks off today

In the framework of the Quadripartite Initiative of Cyprus, Greece, France and Italy, which aims to strengthen security and stability in the wider region and ensure free navigation, the aeronautical exercise “EUNOMIA” is being held for the fourth consecutive year in the Eastern Mediterranean and in Cyprus from September 11-15, 2023.

According to a statement of the Ministry of Defence, the quadripartite cooperation demonstrates the collective intention and commitment to implement the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and Customary International Law, aiming to maintain stability in the Eastern Mediterranean. The purpose of the exercise is to improve the mutual understanding and operational interoperability of the participating air forces.

It is added that “EUNOMIA 4-2023” is coordinated by France and will be held in the Eastern Mediterranean and in Cyprus from September 11 to 15. During the exercise, naval and air drills will be held and items of Maritime Interdiction, Search and Rescue will be examined. In addition, for the first time the exercise will focus on the tactical part of civilian evacuation operations and on cyberwarfare.
