Canada will send weapons and give a new loan of 347 million euros (500 million Canadian dollars) to Ukraine. The announcement was made on Monday by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trinto.

This is the first time that Ottawa has announced that it is sending lethal military equipment and ammunition to Ukraine. The equipment to be delivered to Kiev is worth $ 7.8 million, said Justin Trinto.

The purpose of this support by Canada and our other partners is to prevent Russia from continuing its offensive against Ukraine, the Canadian Prime Minister said during a press conference, which was mostly dedicated to the crisis of the convoys against health measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus pandemic that has afflicted the North American country for more than two weeks.

By the end of January, Canada had already lent $ 120 million to the Ukrainian government to support the country’s economy.
