The State Department has authorized Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia to send US-made missiles and other military equipment to Ukraine, three sources familiar with the matter said, as the US President estimates that Russia will try to invade the neighboring country.
Countries must obtain permission from the State Department before transferring any military equipment they have received from the United States to third countries.
A State Department spokesman confirmed that the US government had approved the transfer of US weapons from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Britain to Ukraine, but did not elaborate on the type of weapons.
