Russian forces are bombing bridges and railways to slow down the shipment of Western weapons to Ukraine.
Areas in both the south and southeast have been targeted by Moscow. Missile attacks took place in Zaporizhia, Odesa and Mykolaiv, while in Kherson Moscow imposed – as it announced – pro-Russian leaders and is trying to organize a referendum.
“The Russian Army has taken control of the entire Kherson region, parts of the Kharkiv, Zaporizhia and Mykolaiv regions as well as large parts of the (self-proclaimed) People’s Republics of Donetsk and Lugansk,” said the Russian Lieutenant-General Mikhail Mizinchev.
However, the Commander of the Ukrainian forces in the region denied Moscow’s claim about Kherson on Tuesday. As he said, lines of defence continue to be inside the periphery and the Russians have not been able to break them.
At the same time, the Russian Army announced on Tuesday that it had destroyed four weapon depots of the Ukrainian forces in Slovyansk from the air. Generally, the Russian Air Force bombed 32 military targets, said Defence Ministry spokesman, Igor Konashenkov. Another 33 artillery or missile targets were hit, according to him, including troop concentrations, artillery positions, air defence systems, ammunition and weapon depots.
Further, Russian forces announced that they had destroyed a “large amount” of weapons that had been delivered to Kyiv by the United States and European countries. It was not immediately clear what kind of weapons were destroyed in the attack and it was not possible to confirm the Russian statement from an independent source.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces announced today that Russian forces had advanced into eastern Ukraine, occupying towns in the Kharkiv region and Donbas.
From Izum, which was already under their control, Russian forces launched an offensive in the direction of Barvinkov, further south. They have occupied the town of Zavodi and the northeastern suburbs of the town of Velika Komisuvaha, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence announced this morning.
Further east, in the direction of Liman, the Russian Army occupied the town of Zarichne and attempted an attack near Yabi,” he continued.
Near Sheverodonetsk, one of the largest cities in the region with 100,000 inhabitants before the war, Moscow forces took control of the town of Novotoskivsk and launched an offensive in the direction of Nizhny Novgorod, according to the same source.
Since the beginning of the Russian invasion on February 24, the Ukrainian Army has rarely spoken of advancing Russian forces or occupying towns, Euronews reports.
Finally, according to the deputy mayor of Mariupol, the attack on the Azofstal factory, where the last defenders of the city as well as civilians have sought refuge, is still ongoing on Wednesday.
