A winter swimmer in the Soroni region of Rhodes spotted something shiny in the water, took it to land, and soon after learned that it was a mine from the war in Ukraine.
According to information, it is a mine that reached the Mediterranean from Ukraine, after an explosion at a dam in the country. Experts note that it is possible that other mines have ended up in Mediterranean waters, sounding the alarm.
After making it ashore, the swimmer called the Hellenic Coast Guard.
