According to an announcement of the National Guard General Staff (GEEF), from November 2-4, 2021, the National Guard will be conducting the planned large-scale Headquarters Tactical Exercise, codenamed “OLYMPOS – 2021”. Other agencies and services of the wider public sector of the Republic of Cyprus will participate in this exercise.
The purpose of the exercise is to assess the Crisis Management System at the level of the General Staff, Formations, Tactical Formations and Commands, to provide training on issues of organisation, planning, conducting operations and implementing plans, as well as on the provision of support to military operations by other state agencies and services in the context of the Emergency Planning Policy.
The exercise strengthens the interoperability between the National Guard and the other Government Bodies and Services and contributes significantly to the increase of the operational capabilities of the former in terms of crisis management.
