Another National Guard official found positive for coronavirus COVID-19, raising the number of personnel affected to 4.

The new case concerns an officer serving at the National Guard General Staff (NGGS) and is estimated that he had contact with the other officer of NGGS who was found positive in the coronavirus the previous days. The new case was confirmed on Wednesday March 18 and is 1 of the 9 confirmed cases announced that day.

The other two cases in the National Guard concern professionals serving in a camp in Stavrovouni, which has been in quarantine for days.  Exit from the unit has been banned for 14 days due to self-restriction in which soldiers and executives were ordered to stay.

As for the NGGS’s building, on Friday March 20, disinfection of the building in planned and the personnel -who remain self-restrict to their houses- are expected to return to their duties on March 26.

Finally the tracking process for contacts of the fourth case has now begun.
