The Ministry of Defence announced that the Cabinet, in today’s session, approved the appointment of Lieutenant General Georgios Tsitsikostas as Chief of the National Guard’s General Staff so as to replace Lieutenant General Demokritos Zervakis.
According to the announcement, Lieutenant General Georgios Tsitsikostas will officially assume his duties on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 08:00, the Armed Forces Day, in an appointment ceremony that will take place at the Presidential Palace.
The Military handover ceremony of the leadership of the National Guard will take place in the afternoon of the same day at the force’s camp.
