Medical care for Aegean islands residents by the Armed Forces

The 2 planned missions for the 1st semester of 2023 of the multi-member joint mobile medical echelon of the Medical Directorate of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS) for the islands of the Aegean Sea were completed on Tuesday, May 30, 2023. The missions took place within the framework of the Ministry’s action “Medical Care provision to Everyone by the Armed Forces”.

The missions, which consisted of a group of Military Doctors specializing in Cardiology, General Practice, Orthopedics, ENT and Ophthalmology as well as Military Nurses were transported to the islands with Navy Units and provided primary health care to a total of 126 residents of the following islands: Nisyros, Tilos, Halki, Thymaina and Fourni.
