On Friday, April 29, 2022, the new United Arab Emirates Defence Attaché in Cyprus, Staff Brigadier General Jassim Shurafa, visited the Joint Rescue Coordination Center (JRCC).

The Defence Attaché was briefed by the Commander and the Staff of JRCC on the Center’s organization and operation as well as its role in the wider area of ​​the southeastern Mediterranean. At the same time, issues of common interest were discussed in order to further develop the level of cooperation between the two countries in the Search and Rescue sector.

The visit took place a few days after the Seminar on the “Role of the EU Cyber ​​Ecosystem in the Global Cyber ​​Security Stability” organized at the “ZENON” Coordination Center of JRCC. The seminar was jointly organized by the Ministry of Defence, the Digital Security Authority and the European Security and Defence College. The seminar was attended by 52 participants from 11 countries in Europe, North Africa and the Gulf.
