Joint exercise of 460 Search & Rescue Squadron with French Frigate FS FORBIN – Photos

On the occasion of the arrival of the French Frigate FS FORBIN in the Eastern Mediterranean region, a joint exercise with the Air Force Command was held on July 8, 2021. 

The exercise took place in the sea area east of Larnaca. On the part of the Air Force Command, an AW-139 helicopter of the 460 Search & Rescue Squadron participated in the exercise, executing landings and take-offs in the specially-designed area of ​​the frigate. During the exercise, a total of seven (7) landings – take-offs were executed.

The exercise contributed to the increase of the level of operational readiness and combat capability of the participating units, while enhancing their interoperability and proving in practice the excellent relationship of the Armed Forces of the two countries, which is constantly upgraded. 

In addition, it reflects the wide network of collaborations in which the National Guard participates, actively contributing to the common goal of consolidating security and stability in the Eastern Mediterranean region and beyond.
