The tender for the purchase of five (5) unmanned helicopters for the needs of the Hellenic Navy has been completed, according to an exclusive report by Star TV.

Following the Hellenic Army and Air Force, the Hellenic Navy will in turn acquire unmanned equipment. These are five (5) small unmanned helicopters worth approximately 2,000,000 euros.

According to reporter Costas Symeonidis, the Hellenic Navy will have procured the unmanned helicopters by the end of the year from a multinational company specializing in such aircraft.

The five (5) unmanned helicopters will be able to operate day and night, either on frigates or land and will be additional “eyes” for the Hellenic Navy in the Aegean.

These unmanned helicopters will be able to fly within a radius of 20 km, up to 10,000 feet high at a speed not exceeding 70 km/h. They will be equipped with thermal cameras for night operations and will transmit real-time data and images to their base.

The unmanned helicopters will provide new operational capabilities to the Hellenic Navy.
