Cyprus | Nikos Christodoulidis in Lebanon for the immigration problem

The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulidis, stated that he is traveling to Lebanon on Monday for a meeting with the country’s leadership regarding immigration, noting that the situation is difficult. The President assured, nonetheless, that the issue will be dealt with.

The President responded to journalists’ questions on the sidelines of his visit to Tochni.

Asked for more details regarding the support he expects from the Commission regarding the immigration issue, the President of the Republic said that on Sunday he will meet with the President of the European Commission and is in contact on a technical level.

On Monday, he added that he will travel to Lebanon together with the Ministers of Interior, Foreign Affairs, the Chief of the National Guard and other state officials.

President Christodoulidis noted that they are in a difficult situation, facing a crisis, but he wants to assure that they will do everything possible to face this situation as well.
