Despite the fact that the 1st Cypriot-made mock-up of the Spear-22 long-range loitering munition caught the attention at the EDEX 2023 Defence and Security Exhibition, the CyRIC AGS pavilion also showcased advanced technologically mature systems.

These systems are mainly Multicopters Unmanned Systems, which can perform multiple missions.

In particular, the CyRIC stand will present the following:

GOLIATH Hexacopter

The CyRIC AGS Goliath multicopter made its debut at DEFEA in Athens this year, and it raised interest, especially for gliders that it can carry as cargo.

Specifications:

DRAGONFLYER-60 and DRAGONFLYER-81 Glider vehicles

Alongside the Goliath, the company unveiled the Dragonflyer-60 and Dragonflyer-81 systems, a series of glider vehicles designed to carry 60 mm and 81 mm mortars respectively. These systems are deployed from the mother aircraft (Goliath) and receive target coordinates from a ground control station, which autonomously calculates the shortest, most efficient flight path to the target based on prevailing weather conditions.

DRAGONFLYER-60 technical characteristics:

  • Maximum weight: 4 kg
  • Payload: mortar 60 mm 1.2–1.6 kg
  • Cruising speed/air gliding: 162 km/h
  • Diving speed: 215 km/h
  • Maximum operational range: 14.5 km
  • Wingspan: 1.1 meters
  • Width: 0.28 meters
  • Height: 0.16 meters
  • Length: 0.51 meters (folded) / 0.62 meters (fully extended)

DRAGONFLYER-81 technical characteristics:

  • Maximum weight: 5.5 kg
  • Payload: 81 mm mortar 3.5 – 4.0 kg
  • Cruising speed/air gliding: 195 km/h
  • Diving speed: 260 km/h
  • Maximum operational range: 12 km
  • Wingspan: 1.4 meters
  • Width: 0.36 meters
  • Height: 0.36 meters
  • Length: 0.97 meters

HORNET II

Cyric AGS also presents the Hornet II drone, structurally made of carbon fiber with an IP56 weather protection level and a retractable landing gear.

Hornet II technical characteristics:

  • Payload: 2.4 kg
  • Diameter of static frame: 550 mm
  • Diameter with rotating parts: 1170 mm
  • Height: 445 mm
  • Weight: 1.69 kg (without battery) / 3.59 kg (with battery)
  • Maximum take-off weight: 6 kg
  • Maximum Takeoff Speed: 5 m/s
  • Maximum Horizontal Flight Speed: 54 km/h
  • Flight endurance: 55 minutes

Also, the system in question has GPS anti-jamming capabilities, while it can integrate a multitude of sensors depending on operational requirements.

SKYEYE

Furthermore, the company presents the SKYEYE drone which, in its basic configuration, features a Ground Station and night vision Sensor stabilizer, while it can be carried in a backpack.

In addition, it has an optional payload release mechanism for arming the multicopter.

The technical features of SKYEYE include:

  • Carbon fiber construction with IP56 weather protection level
  • Retractable landing gear
  • Maximum payload: 9 kg
  • Loitering time depending on weight: 3 kg ≥ 49 minutes / 5 kg ≥ 40 minutes / 9 kg ≥ 24 minutes
