Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, contacted US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, yesterday.
In a Twitter post, Mr. Mitsotakis described his conversation with the US Secretary of State as constructive, stressing that Greece and the US, as NATO allies, continue to coordinate closely against Russia’s unprovoked military attacks on Ukraine.

The US Secretary of State thanked Greece for its support to Ukraine during his contact with Mr. Mitsotakis.
In particular, he stated in his post: “Greece and the United States continue to coordinate closely, as allies in NATO, against unprovoked Russian military attacks in Ukraine.”

Also, President Biden will meet with Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, at the White House on May 16. According to the announcement of the American presidency, the two sides will discuss the current developments in Ukraine as well as the cooperation of Washington with Athens in dealing with international challenges, such as energy security and climate change.
The White House said in a statement that “President Biden is looking forward to welcoming Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, to the White House on May 16, 2022. The Prime Minister’s visit provides an opportunity to reaffirm our strong bilateral cooperation and to celebrate Greece’s 201st anniversary of independence.
The leaders will discuss ongoing efforts with allies and partners to support the people of Ukraine and impose economic sanctions on Russia for its unprovoked aggression. They will discuss our close cooperation on global challenges, including climate change and energy security.
The leaders will review our common efforts to promote global security through NATO as well as our common goals for peace and prosperity in the region. They will also celebrate the history, the democratic values, and the trade and investment ties that have united our peoples and countries for generations.”
