The Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Democritus Zervakis, welcomed Mr. Iasonas Iasonos to his office on September 8.

Mr. Iasonas has been known for his selfless contribution to the Homeland and the National Guard. He has been a member of the latter since 1965 when he served his term and, like many of his colleagues, he is still, until the age of 70, a national guard volunteer who strengthens the deterrent capacity of the National Guard.

Even though in 2016, after 17 years of voluntary service, he was formally released by the National Guard, as Honorary Major Deputy Commander of 31st Reserved Forces Battalion, he continues, to this day, to offer and participate in the activities of the National Guard, his second family as he likes to mention, setting an example for the younger ones.
