The US Navy’s leadership, overturning the facts, recommended that the Commander of the USS “Theodore Roosevelt” Captain Brett Crozier should return to his post, following his removal three weeks ago.
US Secretary of Defence Mark Esper said he would “thoroughly examine” the Navy’s preliminary investigation into the outbreak of the novel coronavirus COVID-19 on “Theodore Roosevelt” and would then meet with the Navy’s leadership to discuss further actions, the Pentagon announced on Friday.
Captain Brett Crosier was relieved from his duties because of the dramatic warning he had made to the Navy – a warning which eventually made its way to the press – regarding the corona outbreak on his ship and the treatment of the infected sailors. The crew of the USS Theodore Roosevelt, however, cheered their captain during his removal from the aircraft carrier.
