Turkish Army’s “Blue Homeland” major exercise in the Aegean and the Mediterranean
The Turkish Ministry of Defence announced the annual “Blue Homeland” major exercise, which will be held from February 25 to March 7 in the Aegean and the Mediterranean, during which the readiness of units and ships under the Naval Forces Command will be assessed.
Eighty seven ships, 27 aircraft and 20 helicopters will take part in the exercise, while the capabilities of the units for joint naval operations will be tested in order to increase their combat readiness.
High-speed unmanned aerial vehicles will also be used as targets which, along with the execution of live fire, will simulate a real operational environment.
