A Turkish Air Force plane crashes near Konya, according to the Turkish Daily Sabah.
The Turkish Ministry of Defence confirmed that the NF-5 training aircraft crashed at 2:15 pm. The aircraft was part of the Turkish Stars, the famous aerobatic demonstration team of the Turkish Air Forces.
The crash site was near “Third Main Jet Base”, a large air base.
Search and rescue teams were dispatched to the crash site and an investigation was launched into the cause of the accident. According to unofficial reports, the pilot of the aircraft is dead.
