The number of COVID-19 cases in the Armed Forces is rising

Two more National Guard officers found positive for COVID-19 coronavirus, raising the number of professionals so far to six.

According to the first reports, the two new cases concern professionals based at Stavrovouni camp, where two more confirmed cases have been identified in the past few days. Two of the total cases concern siblings who serve in a unit in Stavrovouni.

The total number of people infected with the COVID-19 in Cyprus is constantly increasing and so far it is up to 262 people of which unfortunately 8 have died. The Government of the Republic of Cyprus, taking into account the global situation as well as the situation in Cyprus has imposed a restriction on traffic since Monday 30th of March in order to break the virus transmission chain, while trying to maintain the health system adequate in operation.
