Nine people, including five Syrian soldiers, were killed in Israeli airstrikes overnight on the outskirts of Damascus, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
According to the British-based non-governmental organization, which relies on a vast network of sources in the war-torn country, the targets of the strikes were mainly ammunition depots and pro-Iranian organization facilities.
Earlier, a source close to the armed forces reported four Syrian soldiers dead to the official SANA news agency. It said Israel had launched an airstrike early this morning, firing several rockets from Tiberias, aiming several targets on the outskirts of Damascus. The Syrian air defence, the source added, shot down several missiles, but according to initial information, the number of soldiers killed is four, with three others wounded, while material damage was also found, the SANA source clarified.
