“Skyros 2021” exercise | Mirage 2000, F-16 and RAFALE in the Greek skies – Photos
On Tuesday, February 2, 2021, the French Air Force personnel and aircraft arrived at the 114th Combat Wing at Tanagra Air Base within the framework of the bilateral joint “Skyros 2021” exercise, which will be held from February 02-04, 2021.
The purpose of “SKYROS 2021” is the training of personnel in the execution of complex aeronautical operations, which will be conducted day and night across Athens’ FIR.
The Hellenic Air Force will participate in the exercise with Mirage 2000 and F-16 aircraft, the Hellenic Navy with surface units, while the French Air Force will participate with four RAFALE aircraft, two A400M Atlas transport aircraft and an A330 MRTT air refueling aircraft.
Thursday, February 04, 2021 has been designated as the Day of Distinguished Visitors (DV DAY), which is of particular importance due to the recent signing of an agreement for the acquisition of 18 RAFALE aircraft by our country. DV DAY will be attended by the Military and Political Leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ambassador of France in Athens, the French Military Delegation, Defence Attachés of foreign countries as well as Greek and French journalists.
