Sixty-two new Police members ready to contribute to society – Photos

The graduation ceremony of the Police Probation Training no.150 took place yesterday February 12 at the Cyprus Police Academy (AAK).

A small graduation ceremony was held in the presence of the Chief of Police, Mr. Stelios Papatheodoros, the Assistant to Training Chief, Mr. Georgios Frangos, and the Director of the Police Academy, Senior Officer Mr. Themistos Arnaoutis, for all 62 members recruited by the Police on 15/11/2017 and underwent three years of training (AAK, University of Cyprus, Emergency Response Unit (MMAD) and internship at Police Stations), with the most modern theoretical and practical training methods.

It is noted that part of the training of the above Police members was – for the first time – carried out in the form of distance learning, due to the coronavirus pandemic and in compliance with the relevant Ministerial Decrees.

In his greeting, the Chief of Police stated, among other things, “we invest the maximum in the continuous education and retraining of our members, as we firmly believe that through education principles and values ​​are cultivated, professional conscience is consolidated, which governs modern forms of policing and promotes collective forms of action to ensure the basic functions of a modern, democratic and prosperous state.”

Addressing the graduates, he also told them to be proud of their uniform, but also of the role assigned to them to guard the security of the state and its institutions.

Finally, referring to the challenge facing all of humanity, but also our place to deal with the pandemic, he noted that “we need mobilization and responsibility by everyone to prevent further spread of the virus and return to normalcy, which we all hope for. We are optimistic that with a collective effort, better days are ahead of all of us.”
