The unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) of Pakistan’s state defence industry GDIS, Shahpar-II, attracted the visitors’ interest at the international defence exhibition World Defence Show 2024 held in Saudi Arabia.
Shahpar-II technical characteristics (Armed):
- Endurance: 12 hours
- Elevation: 21,000 feet
- Speed: 220 km/h
- Wingspan: 9.4 meters
- Data Link Range: 1500 km
Its armament includes four 45 kg air-to-ground missiles (AGM), two under each wing. There is also the unarmed version (Surveillance) which features a longer endurance of 20 hours and an altitude of 23,000 feet.
Shahpar-II is currently undergoing test flights. It was also presented at the IDEF 2023 exhibition in Turkey. The Pakistan Air Force is giving special importance to the drone fleet and has already procured Bayraktar TB-2 from Turkey.
