Russia has greatly increased its ammunition production, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu said.
This applies to both conventional and high-precision munitions, Mr. Shoigu said during a meeting with General Staff officers.
The Russian Defence Minister said this would allow Moscow to achieve its goals in the war in Ukraine, which the Kremlin has dubbed a “special military operation”.
Ammunition shortages have become a serious problem for both Ukraine and Russia in the ongoing conflict which, according to many analysts, has turned into a war of attrition.
Ukraine’s allies in the West, which supply its forces with large quantities of ammunition, have also recently said they have intensified their production.
