National Guard Cyber ​​Defence Team participates in “MilCERT Interoperability Conference – MIC2021”

From February 16-18, 2021, the Cyber ​​Defence Team of the Cyber ​​Defence Command of the National Guard General Staff participated in the “MIC-2021” exercise organised by the European Defence Agency in collaboration with CybExer Technologies. The exercise involved 19 EU member states and its aim was the participants’ training on how to tackle real-time cyber defence challenges.

In particular, the purpose of the exercise was the cooperation of Military Readiness and Emergency Teams (MilCERT) in the development of procedures and skills for the detection, mitigation and repulsion of cyber attacks. The exercise was conducted via a simulation which, among other things, focused on a military environment which included a drone control system as well as ground-based satellite stations.

According to the Chief of the National Guard, who attended the exercise, the participation of National Guard personnel in such exercises constitutes proof of the cooperation among EU member states in addressing the challenges arising in the field of cybersecurity. In addition, it is a first-class opportunity for the exchange of knowledge and experience between those involved which upgrades their professional training, while it also highlights the high level of education and competence of the National Guard personnel.
