The Ministry of Defence announced that during the training flight of the National Guard’s Aerostar Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), an order was given for landing in a controlled uninhabited area north of the community of Lefkara.

It is noted that the National Guard procured this particular model from the Israeli company Aeronautics in 2019. The said system can carry advanced, electro-optical sensors (EO/IR), laser pointers, synthetic aperture radar (SAR\GMTI), various intelligence gathering sensors (COMINT, ELINT) as well as more advanced payloads.
