Minister of Defence visits Units and Outposts at the Forward Defence Line – Photos
The Minister of Defence, Mr. Charalambos Petridis, accompanied by the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Democritus Zervakis, visited Military Units and Outposts in the areas of Nisos, Larnaca and Kokkinochoria.
During the visit, they inspected the living conditions of the soldiers, the barracks and the other facilities of the outposts at the Forward Defence Line (FDL).
There, the Minister of Defence was informed about the mission and the role of the outposts, while he had the opportunity to talk with executives and conscripts who serve at the front line.
Addressing conscripts and executives, Mr. Petridis stressed that the Ministry’s effort beyond the armament programs is equally important so as to further upgrade the military infrastructure.
It is noted that, in all units, all the protection measures provided by the health protocols for dealing with the coronavirus pandemic are strictly observed.
This visit is the beginning of a series of visits – inspections at the Forward Defence Line, but also in other Units. The visits are expected to be completed around mid-November 2020.
