Lithuanians have raised 14 million euros to supply Ukraine with tactical aerial surveillance radars in a fundraising campaign that ended last night.
Lithuania, a member of the European Union and NATO, is at the forefront of support for Ukraine. The money raised will enable the purchase of 14 radars.
The 14 million euros, an unexpected amount for the organizers, were collected with donations of 5 euros over the phone, while businesses also participated in the campaign.
Lithuania has taken in 75,000 Ukrainian refugees and pledged 800 million euros in aid to Kyiv, almost half of which is military aid.
In May 2022, Lithuanians raised more than 5 million euros in three days during the first fundraising campaign for the purchase of Turkish Bayraktar TB2 UCAV for Ukraine.
