On Wednesday, March 10, 2021, following the actions of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS) and in the framework of the international collaborations of the Hellenic Armed Forces with respective Special Forces of allied countries, a Passing Exercise (PASSEX) was held with the participation of frigate PSARA and fighter jets of the STANDING NATO MARITIME GROUP 2 (SNMG 2) in the sea area west of Crete. From February 5 to the March 11, 2021, frigate KOUNTOURIOTIS fully and organically participated in the SNMG 2.

During PASSEX complex anti aircraft warfare drills (Air Defense Exercise) as well as communication and other naval exercises were held.

This joint exercise along with the active participation of units in the SNMG 2 helped to promote the level of operational readiness, combat capability, interoperability and cooperation of the participating forces in an Allied framework.
