The replacement of Frigate ELLI by Frigate THEMISTOKLIS took place on Thursday, April 6, 2023, in the presence of the Commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon Maritime Task Force (UNIFIL MTF), Rear Admiral Michael Busse of the German Navy. The event took place upon completion of the frigate’s participation in the UNIFIL MTF.
According to the announcement of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS), after sailing from the port of Limassol, frigate ELLI participated in a joint exercise with the ground units of the National Guard General Staff (GEEF) on communications and surface image composition.
On Friday, April 07, 2023, Frigate ELLI sailed to the Alexandria Naval Base, Egypt, and on Saturday, April 08, 2023, it participated in a joint PASSEX (Passing Exercise) with the Egyptian Frigate TOUSHKA (F-906), which was held in the wider sea area north of Alexandria and included asymmetric threat countermeasures, image composition and surface and anti-aircraft warfare reconnaissance image exchange.
